I want to see a church flourishing in the gifts of the Spirit. The unadulterated manifest presence of God. The supernatural unexplainable operation of the Spirit. The weird stuff. I want to be in church services that get crazy. I want to take off running while people are prophesying and getting healed and the oil is out and we run out of modesty cloths. Those four hour services where people can’t wait to see what happens next. We can’t enjoy excess spiritual ACTIVITY until we have increase in spiritual MATURITY.
The goal of this series is to provide clear and concise teaching on the Spiritual gifts while working our way through the book of Acts. We want to identify spiritual gifts as they are being used by the Apostles to preach the Gospel and build the early church. Teaching on the Spiritual Gifts while we are in Acts allows us to reemphasize to our people what the PURPOSE and MISSION of the gifts are. Our prayer for this series is that our congregation would be filled with the Spirit, confident to use their gifts as often as possible to BUILD the church, while also being spiritually mature enough to discern what orderly worship is.
